On September 14, 2022, Rocgene, in cooperation with China University of Mining and Technology, held the 2nd training session on "Theory and Practice of Quantitative Real-Time PCR" at Rocgene Xuzhou Intelligent Manufacturing Center.

The training was divided into theoretical instruction and experimental operation, covering the basic principles and applications of qPCR, as well as experimental design and procedures. It focused on absolute quantification (probe method, standard curve preparation), relative quantification (dye method, SYBR Green), PCR experiment optimization, data analysis, and applications of high-resolution melting curve analysis.

As a classic research technique in life sciences, quantitative real-time PCR (qPCR) is increasingly used by researchers. It monitors the PCR reaction in real time by labeling amplicons with fluorescent dyes or specific fluorescent probes, and the corresponding software can analyze the products and calculate the initial template concentration of the test samples.

The training was delivered by Mr. Xu Gang, Technical Manager of Rocgene. Combining Rocgene's Archimed X4 qPCR system, he explained the working principle, experimental workflow, precautions, practical applications, maintenance, calibration and hardware composition of the real-time PCR instrument.

After the theoretical session, a half-day qPCR hands-on training was conducted. During the demonstration, participants listened attentively and took careful notes. Under the instructor’s guidance, they performed sample dilution and PCR reaction mixture preparation in an orderly manner.

This university-enterprise training helped students deepen their understanding of qPCR (polymerase chain reaction) theory and supported them in conducting efficient scientific experiments, which is of great significance for improving learning and research efficiency.
