In May, as spring turns to summer and everything flourishes, Rocgene traveled across the country to participate in two tuberculosis prevention and control conferences in the historic city of Shenyang and the coastal city of Shantou. The Rocgene team traveled between cities and engaged deeply in academic exchange. While learning new knowledge and technologies, we also showcased our contributions to TB prevention and control.

On May 8, 2024, to further improve provincial tuberculosis prevention and control capabilities and promote new knowledge, technologies, and concepts, the Liaoning Provincial Anti-Tuberculosis Association held the 9th Member Congress and Training Course on New Technologies for TB Prevention and Control in Shenyang. During the conference, many experts in the TB field shared research achievements and advanced experience in TB diagnosis, injecting new momentum into the high-quality development of TB prevention and control in Liaoning Province.

Experts from the Tuberculosis Prevention and Control Institute of Shenyang Center for Disease Control and Prevention introduced the progress of drug-resistant TB detection and emphasized the great significance of domestic innovative technologies such as the Rocgene iFIND platform for future TB prevention and control.

Meanwhile, the Chinese Anti-Tuberculosis Association held the 2024 Symposium on Tuberculosis Control in Shantou, Guangdong. Renowned experts and scholars in TB prevention and control were invited to conduct academic exchanges on TB surveillance and epidemiology, challenges and strategies for MDR-TB prevention and control, active case finding among key populations, and TB infection control.

Experts from the Shanghai Municipal Center for Disease Control and Prevention highlighted the necessity of “managing existing cases” and active screening for special populations. They noted that existing nucleic acid testing capabilities, including the iFIND system, have laid a solid foundation for large-scale molecular TB testing and enabled active screening.

These two conferences successfully united and mobilized numerous scientific and technological professionals, as well as enthusiastic individuals from all sectors. Centered on the core goal of ending tuberculosis, participants carried out extensive work including academic exchange, personnel training, science popularization, technical consulting, and comprehensive support for researchers. These efforts have greatly contributed to the vigorous development of TB prevention and control and the protection of public health.
